Why More Women Angels Are Needed — And Why This Is the Moment to Join

At The Angel Initiative Foundation, we believe the future of entrepreneurship needs more diversity, more collaboration, and more women at the investment table.
Across Europe, female founders still receive only a small percentage of available growth capital. At the same time, many women with experience, networks, expertise, and financial capacity are interested in investing — but often do not see themselves reflected in traditional angel investment environments.
We want to change that.
Investing Is Not Just About Capital
Angel investing is often associated with large tickets, aggressive dealmaking, or exclusive networks. But in reality, early-stage investing can also be:
collaborative,
thoughtful,
impact-driven,
and rooted in long-term value creation.
At The Angel Initiative Foundation, we bring together women who want to learn, co-invest, share expertise, and support the next generation of entrepreneurs together.
Some of our members are experienced investors.
Others are taking their first steps into angel investing.
What connects them is a shared belief that supporting female entrepreneurship creates stronger companies, broader innovation, and healthier ecosystems.
You Don’t Have to Do It Alone
One of the biggest barriers for new angels is the idea that they need to know everything before starting.
That is exactly why community matters.
Through our network, members gain access to:
curated startup introductions,
pitch events,
peer learning,
experienced investors,
ecosystem partners,
and conversations about what responsible investing really looks like.
We strongly believe in learning together.
Beyond Networking
The Angel Initiative is more than a networking club.
We are building connections between:
women angels,
founders,
funds,
ecosystem organisations,
and European investment communities.
Through collaborations and initiatives such as Her Capital Connection, we aim to help founders move beyond the friends & family phase and toward sustainable growth financing.
At the same time, we want more women to become visible and active participants in the investment landscape itself.
A Different Kind of Investment Community
We value:
collaboration over competition,
thoughtful growth over hype,
and long-term ecosystem building over short-term visibility.
Many women bring decades of leadership experience from business, governance, entrepreneurship, finance, technology, healthcare, culture, education, or public institutions. Those insights are incredibly valuable within early-stage investing.
Angel investing is not only about money.
It is also about:
pattern recognition,
mentorship,
governance,
resilience,
and opening doors.
